Trade Wars between the USA and the Rest of the World

“The 20th century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: The growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power against democracy.” Alex Carey.
Australian social scientist, quoted by Noam Chomsky in World Orders Old and New

In the USA, neo-cons state it this way:  We do not want to rule the world.  We want the US to have its way.   Our impulse is defensive and nationalistic.  We are the best of all countries with the right ideas.  We want to prevail in international disputes because it is right.  We believe critics are wrongheaded and driven by selfish interests or fearful of competition.  We want expanded trade without the constraints of global obligations.

TRADE DEFICITS
If Americans collectively import more goods and services from foreigners than we export then there is a deficit.  Money flows out.
